The new foldable phone is better in every way compared to its predecessor. Samsung is fixing all the mistakes they made on the first generation and packs a better specs into the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. Samsung has decided to use “Z” as the moniker for its future foldable phones.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 ( aka Fold 2) has a better screen that uses a UTG ( Ultra Thin Glass ) technology which provides a better touchscreen experience and a more sturdier sustainability. The ugly notch on the internal screen which houses the selfie camera in the first generation is also removed and now replaced with a single punch-hole cutout in the middle of the right screen. The cover screen of Z Fold 2 is also a bigger and better display. It is now increased from 4.6-inch to a 6.2-inch display. The internal screen also has had an upgrade from previously 7.2-inch to now a 7.6-inch display which boasts a 120Hz screen refresh rate.
Samsung Z Fold 2 also features the same CAM hinge mechanism which is similar to that on the Z Flip. The mechanism allows the Z Fold 2 to be open at multiple angles. The hinge mechanism shines especially when coupled with the improved camera software that has a better and cleaner UI.
The camera on the Samsung Z Fold 2 has also been improved. Curiously, Samsung did not pack in the 108MP and 50X SpaceZoom in the Z Fold 2. Instead, the Samsung Z Fold 2 comes with a Triple camera array as the main camera and two single selfie cameras on the cover screen and the internal screen respectively. The main camera array consists of a 12MP wide cam, a 12MP telephoto cam, and a 12MP ultrawide cam, while the selfie cameras both use a 10MP sensor.
